House GOP Attends Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Warrior Resource Center and First Annual Patriot’s Day Tribute for Emergency Responders
Montrose, Colo.—Today, on the second day of their Building a Better Colorado Tour, House Republicans attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Welcome Home Montrose’s new Warrior Resource Center and the First Annual Patriot’s Day Tribute for Emergency Responders.
“It is an honor and a privilege to meet these brave warriors who have sacrificed so much to protect our country,” said Assistant Majority Leader Mark Waller, R-Colorado Springs, a veteran of Iraq. “The way Montrose has pulled together as a community to welcome these heroes from across the country into their community makes me proud to be an American.”
Majority Caucus Chair Carole Murray, R-Castle Rock, added: “The way Welcome Home Montrose and the City of Montrose are assisting our wounded veterans transition into civilian life provides a blueprint for other communities nationwide to assist our veterans.”
Welcome Home Montrose is a grassroots community initiative with the goal of making Montrose, Colorado a “no barriers” city and inviting America’s wounded troops to live in the community where they can have the opportunity to thrive.
